New to the team: Becky Malik

Having been at Brandon for a couple of months, Becky gives us the lowdown on her experience so far.

What made you want to work at Brandon?

The family culture was a real draw for me, as well as the diverse talent and creative briefs. Even after my first interview I felt so comfortable and excited about the role, and about what I’d learn here.

And now that you’ve been here for a couple of months, what do you like most?

It has to be the amazing supportive people I work with on a daily basis. And of course the Brandon social events have been great. My favourite so far has to be the summer party – it was my first one outside the studio and it was super fun doing the canoeing team challenge.

What did you do before Brandon?

I studied Graphic Design at Northumbria University, then completed a 5-month internship at Design Bridge in Amsterdam. It was an amazing experience, but then Covid hit so I returned home. As agencies were not hiring, I got a receptionist and IT support role at a law firm where I greeted clients, and formatted and prepared documents ready for court hearings.

What would you say are your core skills?

Concept designing, digital illustration and sketching.

What category would you like to work on?

Is it too obvious to say alcohol?

Just for fun questions

Fave movie: Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging

Fave brand in the world: Cadbury’s or Absolut Vodka. Both brands always lead with such strong design and have a cultural relevance to any campaign.
